ARR Leaderboard
Cohere went from ~$13M of revenue in 2023 to a ~$500M annualized run rate in 2026 by refusing to build a chatbot — its business is private, secure LLM deployments for enterprises and governments. Company
Cohere sells to enterprises and governments, not consumers. API pricing is deliberately cheap relative to frontier labs: Command A at roughly $1.00 per million input tokens, Command R at $0.15/$0.60 per million input/output, Aya Expanse at $0.50/$1.50, Embed at $0.10 per million tokens and Rerank at $2.00 per 1,000 searches. North, its agentic platform, and Maestro-style orchestration sit on top.
The real margin engine is private deployment: Cohere runs its models inside customers' own cloud VPCs or entirely on-premise — including sovereign installs for national governments — where contracts are large, sticky and carry 70–80% gross margins. That willingness to stay out of the consumer race is why Cohere's valuation-to-ARR ratio is among the most conservative on this leaderboard.
